Registration

Registration of players is done through the local associations.  Please see the list of ERRA associations on the front page of the ERRA web site for contact information for the individual associations.  Information on fees, schedules and association policies should be obtained from the relevant association.

2021-2022 Updates

Please note that the ERRA Membership Services Coordinator is now Kelly Sitland. She can be reached at membership_services_coord@easternregionringette.ca
Due to the unusual nature of the 2020-2021 season, for purposes of Releases etc., 2020-2021 will be ignored.  It will neither count as a season played nor will it break a string of consecutive seasons.  Release requirements etc should be based on a player's 2019-2020 registration and 2021-2022 shoudl be treated as the season immediately following 2019-2020.  Please direct any questions to Kelly Sitland at membership_services_coord@easternregionringette.ca

New Players

New players should seek out the local association which services the neighbourhood in which they reside.  A list of associations including contact information is provided on the main page of the ERRA Web Site.  The exact boundaries of an association are best obtained from that association, however the boundaries of many of our associations are based on the current or former municipalities for which they are named.  New players â€‹residing within the boundaries of any ERRA association must register with and play for that association unless released under the Tryout/Release process (see below).
New players having a Primary Residence that is outside the boundaries of all ERRA associations may register with the association of their choosing.  Once such a player has chosen an association, they cannot register with or play for a different association in future seasons unless released under the Tryout/Release process or if eligible for Relocation due to a change in primary residence.

Association Registrars:  Please ensure that the addresses of all new registrants are checked to confirm that they are, in fact, located within your associations boundaries.

Returning Players

Returning players must register with and play for their Home association unless released under the Tryout/Release process or if they have moved and choose to follow the Player Relocation process.  For most players, their Home Association is the association who's boundaries encompass the player's Primary Residence, or is the association that they first played for.  If a player has been released under the Tryout/Release process for three consecutive seasons, that association becomes their Home Association.

Tryout/Release

Players seeking to play in an age division, or Level of Play (AA vs A, A vs B, B vs C etc.) that is not offered by their Home Association have the option to try out with another local association of their choosing.  Players considering this option should review the important information on our Tryout Information process page.  If such a player is offered and accepts a spot on another association's team, that association becomes their "Chosen" association.  In the subsequent season, if the player again choses to pursue the Tryout/Release process, they must attend the tryouts of their Chosen Association, in addition to those of their Home Association (if held) prior to trying out for a third association.  Additional information on Tryout/Release can be found in RO Operating Resources under "Membership Services".

Relocation

Players who have a change of Primary Residence (i.e. household move) or who move for post-secondary education have the option to either continue playing for their Home association or to play for the association which services the area of their new residence.  Please see our Player Relocation page for important information.

Disputes

Contested applications for player release or other release related disputes must be referred to Membership Services if the matter cannot be resolved betwen the associations and individuals involved.  Please notify the ERRA Chair and Membership Services Coordinator of any request for tribunal. Also note that a $150 non-refundable deposit is required to hold a tribunal and that the party requesting the tribunal is responsible for all costs incurred to hold the tribunal.  Please contact the Membership Services Coordinator for more information.
